Accommodation

Living accommodation is initially provided in the Main House on the estate which has 15 large single bedrooms. Each of you is given your own key to your room. Breakfast and evening meals are taken in the Main House dining room. Breakfast is usually around 7:30am and the evening meal around 5:15pm.

In due course, you will move on to the Coach House, which is a short walk from the Main House. The Coach House has 16 single bedrooms, a TV room and separate laundry facilities.

There are facilities for making hot drinks and light refreshments, but while you’re in the Coach House you’ll still eat your breakfast and evening meals in the Main House dining room.

When individuals are considered to be capable and ready, more independent accommodation is provided in a number of flats on the estate. In this top tier of accommodation, you can take more responsibility for yourself, manage a small food budget that we provide and experience catering for yourself. Weekly trips are made to a large supermarket to buy provisions, and to local general stores for small shopping items.

Over the weekends you will organise your own time and activities, returning home or visiting friends. To come to the Foundation, you will need to provide an address of residence as a necessary part of gaining a placement.

This is necessary to show it has been agreed that you have somewhere to go if you are sick, for holidays, and for weekends. We are unable to accommodate you over the weekend, so it is absolutely necessary that you have a residence to return to on Friday evening and for the weekend.
